In late 2000 The Geographic Society of Chicago (GSC) and the National Geographic Society (NGS) established an education fund with the primary goal of expanding geography education opportunites in the metropolitan Chicago area. The GSC-NGS Education Fund supports worthy proposals for geography education projects from Chicago metropolitan area teachers, university professors , graduate students, local museums, zoos, and other individuals and institutions interested in improving and expanding geography education in the greater Chicago area. Most awards will fall into the range of $3000 - $5000. Equipment requests will not be funded. Proposals are now invited for the project period of January 2 – December 31, 2005. An Adobe .pdf proposal form will be available on this site in the fall of 2005. |
