Join GSC and IGS on Saturday, March 17 as we team up again for a fun Field Day, a tour of one of Chicago’s western suburb, Oak Park with Keith Yearman, Professor of Geography, College of DuPage, Glen Ellyn, IL as our guide.

On Saturday, March 17 we’ll discover some of the treasures found in Oak Park beginning with a stroll around the Scoville Park area where we will see a sign demarcating the local continental divide that separates the Great Lakes and Mississippi watersheds. We will also be visiting several prominent churches in the area including Grace Episcopal and First United Church of Oak Park.  We’ll stop for lunch at Hemmingway’s Bistro (included in event price), walk through the Hemingway birthplace for a guided tour, then hop into our vehicles (carpooling encouraged) for a short trip to the Wright Home and Studio for another docent-guided tour.

Other sites may be included in the final itinerary which presently is being developed.
