China’s Border Regions: A Diversity of Cultures and Fantastic Scenery
Common images of China include modern cities with skyscrapers, crowded places, high speed rails, rice fields, tea plantations and historic features. Yet, its border regions have very different natural characteristics, uncrowded places and distinctive ethnic groups.
Dr. Moline, drawing upon his extensive travel in China, will describe the border areas near Myanmar, Nepal, Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, Mongolia, Russia and North Korea which are visited by few Americans. The presentation will help attendees develop a more complete view of China and its diversity.
