The American Southwest is a desert country but one of the most colorful places on Earth, with its gorgeous gorges and ethereal sandstone sculptures carved by time.  This is also Indian country, where voices of ancient peoples whisper from incredible cliff-side ruins and enigmatic figures etched and painted on stone.  Many national parks and monuments, mountain mining towns, and the

nostalgia of old Route 66 add to the variety of this remarkable landscape.
