Europe’s Pivotal Nation
with Euan Hague, Professor – DePaul University

Dr. Euan Hague, Professor of Geography at DePaul University, will describe his impressions of Belgium that he developed after visiting the country. From Napoleon’s defeat at Waterloo in 1815, to World Wars I and II, and its current status as the administrative center of the European Union, Belgium is and has been the nation around which much of Europe’s geopolitical conflict and collaboration pivots. Illustrating his talk with his own photographs, Dr. Hague will provide a lively overview of Belgium and its cities of Brussels, Bruges and Leuven.
