She was a pioneer in teaching and promoting geography and geology. She revolutionized methods of teaching\, believing that students needed to be in the field. Zonia also was a feminist and activist regarding social issues of her time. \nAs a member of the Society of Woman Geographers\, she shared her knowledge about the world.
