SUMMARY:GIS Teacher Meet-Up
DESCRIPTION:Monday\, February 26\, 2024 | 7 p.m. | Zoom Webinar \nJoin GSC for this month’s GIS Teacher Meet-Up on February 26 at 7 p.m. on Zoom. This meet-up will review Esri’s Survey123\, an easy to set-up\, online app for collecting data. It is one of many apps in ArcGIS Online accounts. \nHow might it be used? \n\nStudents can collect field data\, like the location of trees\, animal species\, or favorite places in their community.\nTeachers can set up quick quizzes.\n\nWhy might you use it? \n\nInteractive – students collect data from a mobile device.\nProvides details – data that is collected can include specific details about a location\, photographs\, audio.\nFun – data collection is out-of-doors\, during school time or as homework.\nQuick check – a quiz/survey can be set up to check students’ progress.\n\nThe teacher or student decides what data to collect and designs the app. Based on Smart Forms\, Survey123 allows you to design many types of questions for data collection\, like location\, single or multiple choices\, Likert scale\, rankings\, ratings\, photographs\, and audio. Responses are automatically recorded so that you can see graphed results. If location is collected\, data is automatically mapped and available to map and analyze in ArcGIS Online. Easy to set up\, easy to use\, and easy to visualize results. \nPresentation will include survey examples\, how to set up\, and a Survey123 to participate in. \nRegister today and invite any educators or colleagues that you think would be interested in learning more about using GIS in the classroom! \nREGISTER\n\nGraphic credit: “Create a GIS Project in 3 Easy Steps.” Blog. GIS Cloud.
