Geography Bee Celebration

Each year thousands of students in the United States participate in the National Geographic Bee. The winner of the State Bees go to Washington, D.C. to compete for the National Championship.

The night before the Illinois Bee, the Geographic Society of Chicago is host to the one hundred Illinois finalists and their families at our annual GeoBee Celebration. Before dinner, students visit our exhibit tables to learn about the many educational and career opportunities in geography. After dinner, students participate in our raffle drawing, where they receive wonderful geography related prizes from our many donors. The event helps students relax before “the big day.”
