For most of 2008, Steve Harvey was Safety & Security Officer for an international non-governmental organization (NGO) in South Sudan. The NGO’s main base was in Juba, with others located in the towns of Malakal, Kurmuk and Wunrok. These would be reached by small cargo planes, generally operated by the World Food Programme. Other sites would be accessed and provided with supplies by boat using the Sobat, a tributary of the White Nile.
Join GSC as we learn about Steve Harvey’s experiences as an NGO worker in the South Sudan, pre-independence.
