When Cliff Hague first visited South Africa in November 1995, he was invited to give the keynote address at a national retreat to restructure the urban planning profession post-apartheid. His subsequent visits have focused mainly on Cape Town and Johannesburg.
The Geographic Society of Chicago is pleased to present Cliff Hague, Emeritus Professor, Heriot-Watt University in Edinburgh, Scotland as the guide for our October Travelogue.
Cliff will share his personal experiences and explore the history behind today’s ‘Rainbow Nation’. We’ll travel up Table Mountain and to the townships and informal settlements. We’ll see the Voortrekker wagon trains, Nelson Mandela’s cell and do a bit of safari.
What does the future hold for Africa’s leading country? Join us on October 18, 2022 to find out!
